Lace Around The Moon

The moon is our connection

With the leaves reflection

I imagine seeing your face

Surrounded by the lace

 

With every breath I take

With every step I make

I am always thinking of you

And I hope you see it too

 

The north, the south, the east, the west

The Crescent, new, the full, harvest

The different phases of the moon

Bring back memories of you

Our love sometimes seems to wane

From all the heartache and the pain

At times we went our separate ways

But that was just a passing phase

 

The leaves illuminate

The moon then creates

This illusion in the sky

As the seasons go by

 

These shadows are made

With sunlight they fade

I look up and I see

And wonder how can it be

 

The ins, the outs, the ups and downs

The highs, the lows, the smiles and frowns

The times filled with chaotic scenes

I never could forget our dreams

Our love sometimes seems to wane

From all the heartache and the pain
